Web meetings and collaboration are arguably the most prolific by-product of the world we live in today.  In the midst of it all, Microsoft Teams has emerged as, perhaps, the most robust and secure platform for staying connected. The solution is indeed very well made with all many original functionalities and is even more useful if you’re already used to Microsoft 365 products in general. While Microsoft has been continuously evolving and improving Teams, this week’s Ignite conference revealed the latest round of goodies. Here’s a summary:

Bigger Is Better!

  • Increasing meeting participant limit, inside or outside your organization, to 1,000.
  • Increasing view-only (i.e., webinar) participant limit from 10,000 to 20,000.
  • Integrating Dynamics Microsoft 365 Marketing with Teams to provide insights on, and engagement with, high-volume meeting attendees.

It’s Show Time!

  • Introducing Teams Connect, allowing sharing of channels with external contacts.
  • Rolling out PowerPoint Live to give presenters new modes–Standout, Reporter, and Side-by-side–and viewers independent control of slide advancement.
  • Adding new Together Mode and Large Gallery views, as well as multi-screen support, for large in-person meetings.
  • Producing Teams Intelligent Speakers that include pop-up control panels capable of voice recognition of up to 10 participants, to facilitate automated meeting transcription.

While everyone is eager to get back to “normal,” web-based meetings and collaboration are here to stay.  Keep up to date on all things Microsoft Teams here.  Even better, give us a call to learn how your organization can get the most out of Teams and Microsoft 365 in general. We’re here to help.
